Meet the Breeder
Our story begins with one extraordinary dog.
Studley Hill Goldens is a small, home-based program in the Adirondacks of Northern New York. What started as love for a single, life-changing companion became a calling to protect the very best of this breed.
Rooted in Nature. Raised with Purpose.

My love for Golden Retrievers began long before breeding was ever part of the picture. Like many people, I was first drawn to their kindness, loyalty, and gentle nature — but over time, I came to understand just how profound the bond between a person and a dog can truly be.
Sven was originally brought into our family simply as a companion. At the time, I never imagined the impact he would ultimately have on my life. After receiving my autism diagnosis, Sven went on to complete service dog training and became far more than a pet — he became a source of grounding, emotional regulation, stability, and unconditional support during some of the most transformative years of my life. His intuition, calm demeanor, and incredible ability to connect with people completely changed the way I viewed the breed and what a truly exceptional dog could offer a family.
Later, when my husband and I had our son, that perspective deepened even further. Watching the relationship between Sven and our child solidified something very important to me: these qualities matter. Temperament matters. Emotional steadiness matters. Intelligence, adaptability, and companionship matter.
That is ultimately what inspired our breeding program.
This journey was never about producing puppies for profit or status. It was about preserving the qualities that changed our lives and building something meaningful for future generations — especially for our son. As someone who understands firsthand the importance of emotional connection, nervous system safety, and unconditional companionship, I wanted to create a program rooted in purpose, ethics, and heart.
Every breeding decision we make is approached thoughtfully and responsibly, with careful attention to health testing, genetics, temperament, structure, and overall quality of life. We believe in producing dogs that are not only beautiful, but capable — dogs that can serve as loving companions, service or therapy dogs, working partners, and trusted family members.

For us, this is more than breeding dogs.
It is preserving a legacy, strengthening a bloodline with intention and integrity, and raising dogs that embody the very qualities that made us fall in love with the breed in the first place. Our dogs are part of our family, and the future we are building is deeply personal.
Our Mission
To thoughtfully preserve and better the Golden Retriever through ethical, intentional breeding focused on health, temperament, structure, functionality, and long-term genetic diversity.
We believe exceptional dogs are not defined by pedigrees alone, but by their ability to thrive as stable family companions, service and therapy dogs, working partners, and lifelong members of the family. By responsibly blending carefully selected field and show lines and prioritizing comprehensive health testing, we aim to preserve the integrity, purpose, and heart of the Golden Retriever for future generations.
Our Philosophy
Heart. Health. Purpose. Legacy.
Health First
Health is the foundation of everything. OFA hips, elbows, eyes, and heart, plus genetic testing for inherited conditions and a commitment to longevity.
Temperament Matters
We prioritize stable, confident, affectionate temperaments, evaluated in real-life environments and raised in our home with intention.
Thoughtful Pairings
We blend carefully selected field and show lines to promote diversity, vitality, and functionality. Every pairing is intentional and purpose-driven.
Raised as Family
Our dogs are more than our program. They are our family, with early socialization, enrichment, and everyday life from day one.
Versatility & Purpose
We strive to produce dogs that excel as family companions, service dogs, therapy dogs, and working partners alike.
Ethics & Integrity
We are committed to doing what is right for the breed, not what is easy. Quality over quantity, always.
